Good bye old friend.

Sam the Wonder Dog; June, 1994-March 3, 2009; R.I.P.

Today we had to make a tough decision. Sammy's health had been getting worse and worse. Last night she became ill. Today we made the decision to put her down. We are very sad and in a state of grieving - it is like losing a member of the family. But we have to keep reminding ourselves that she did have a good, long life (nearly 15 years). Despite her often hard to understand disposition, we will greatly miss her presence.

Lake Okeechobee

On Sunday we drove up to Lake Okeechobee. We stayed the night and then went out on our rented pontoon boat at Roland Martin Marina. Here are some great pictures of our trip.

We bought a life jacket for Raina at the Bass Pro on the way up to Lake Okeechobee. She didn't mind it for a while. Yes, it's pink.




There is a lock at Lake Okeechobee that is used to control flooding. This is us going through the lock to get to the main part of the lake.



And Steve did catch fish! Sure, it's a blue gill, but it is fish. Steve caught several pan fish and one small bass.

Raina at 8 Months!

We can't believe that Raina is 8 months! Here are some photos and a video of her eating dinner. There is also a photo from this morning of Raina and Daddy sleeping.

Raina plays hooky.

Raina was home sick with Mommy on Friday. She was actually moving around a lot more before I finally got out the camera. She has a cold and cough, but she is getting better. Here you can really see that she seems to know her name now.

My Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades!

Raina is now 7 months! Here are some recent photos. They are from my phone so they are not terribly clear. One is of Raina on a swing - she loves the swings at the park. Another is of her wearing some sunglasses at daycare. The other one is at Pei Wei. If you look very closely in the back you can see Steve with Raina who is using chop sticks as drum sticks.

Raina enjoys a ride in the swing now. She has a lot of fun. This swing is one around 12th and Ocean Streets in Miami Beach.
